Sergei Glazyev, Minister in
charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission,
held meeting with Kazem Jalali, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of
the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Russian Federation, at the Embassy of the
Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow.
The meeting discussed
prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation, including in the sphere of
trade, investment and services. In particular, it was noted that Iran and
Russia had a lot in common on their international agenda. First of all, it is
economic interaction that plays an important role here.
The Iranian
Ambassador reported that the Iranian Parliament had ratified the Interim
Preferential Agreement on Free Trade Area. According to the sides, this will
give a positive impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation.
Sergei Glazyev acquainted his
Iranian colleagues with the current agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Kazem Jalali has stressed that
he pins high hopes on further deepening and developing Iran's cooperation with
the EAEU countries and expressed his desire to visit the Commission’s
headquarters in April for further negotiations.
