Irina Stepanovna Kangro was born on May 22, 1962.


She graduated from the Belarusian State Institute of National Economy named after V.V. Kuibyshev with a degree in Statistics (1986) and the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus with a degree in Public Administration (2001).


From 1986 to 2006, she worked in the Minsk City Department of Statistics, where she rose through the ranks from an economist to the First Deputy Head of the Department.


From 2006 to 2009 she headed the Main Department of Statistics in Minsk.


From 2009 to 2020, she worked as a Deputy Chairman and then as a First Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus.


On January 13, 2021, she was appointed Deputy Director of Statistics Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
