Prospects for developing cooperation between the
Eurasian Economic Union and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela were discussed
by Goar Barseghyan, Director of Integration Development Department of the
Eurasian Economic Commission, and Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa, Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to Russia.
The EEC representative has informed about current
development of the Eurasian integration as well as the geography and mechanisms
of the Union’s international cooperation.
"Since the EAEU launch, the Latin American
countries and associations have taken much interest in dialogue with the
Commission. As a rule, the agenda is focused on the most applied issues related
to supranational regulation of a particular sphere of economy within the
Union," Goar Barseghyan noted.
In turn, the Ambassador has outlined the striving of
the Venezuelan side to deepen interaction with the Union and the Commission as
its regulatory body as well as has emphasized Venezuela's interest in
diversifying exports and entering new markets. He has also spoken in favor of
holding the EAEU presentation in Caracas after the epidemiological situation in
the world will improve and air travel will be launched.
Goar Barseghyan has invited
representatives of Venezuela to take part in key congress and exhibition events
held within the Union, whereon representatives of official and business
community of Venezuela would have the opportunity to learn more about the EAEU
activities in general, its international agenda as well as establish business
contacts.
