Venezuela shows interest in developing integration in EAEU

Prospects for developing cooperation between the Eurasian Economic Union and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela were discussed by Goar Barseghyan, Director of Integration Development Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Venezuela to Russia.

The EEC representative has informed about current development of the Eurasian integration as well as the geography and mechanisms of the Union’s international cooperation.

"Since the EAEU launch, the Latin American countries and associations have taken much interest in dialogue with the Commission. As a rule, the agenda is focused on the most applied issues related to supranational regulation of a particular sphere of economy within the Union," Goar Barseghyan noted.

In turn, the Ambassador has outlined the striving of the Venezuelan side to deepen interaction with the Union and the Commission as its regulatory body as well as has emphasized Venezuela's interest in diversifying exports and entering new markets. He has also spoken in favor of holding the EAEU presentation in Caracas after the epidemiological situation in the world will improve and air travel will be launched.

Goar Barseghyan has invited representatives of Venezuela to take part in key congress and exhibition events held within the Union, whereon representatives of official and business community of Venezuela would have the opportunity to learn more about the EAEU activities in general, its international agenda as well as establish business contacts.
