On May 2 in Astana, the Chairman
of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan informed
the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on the
preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.
“On
the instruction of the Council, I would like to discuss with you a few details:
to determine how we can hold a meeting of the Supreme Council more efficiently,
what issues require special attention, and to consider problems related to the
deepening of integration”, - said the Chairman of the EEC
Board.
The parties discussed issues
related to further deepening of the Eurasian integration.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted high performance of the Eurasian Economic
Union (EAEU), as well as the increased attention
of other countries towards the Union. “Last
year 2017 was a successful one. The trade turnover between our countries has
increased by 27%. We see a great interest towards our association, today over
40 countries cooperate with us. We are holding this meeting on the eve of the
Summit of the SEEC; all items of its agenda have been agreed. We are to discuss
serious questions, including the ones regarding sanctions”, - the President
of Kazakhstan emphasized.
Tigran Sargsyan
congratulated Nursultan Nazarbayev on the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan
and wished prosperity to Kazakhstan. The Chairman of the EEC Board
also provided the Head of State with the information about current activities
of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
