Transitional provisions to EAEU Technical Regulation "On requirements for energy efficiency of power consuming devices" established

11/17/2020
The EEC Board has established transitional provisions to the EAEU Technical Regulation "On requirements for energy efficiency of power consuming devices" (EAEU TR 048/2019).

Within 24 months from the date of entry into force of the Technical Regulation, it is permitted to manufacture and release products into circulation in accordance with national documents on conformity assessment issued before the date the Technical Regulation entered into force, provided that the national conformity assessment procedure was stipulated, or without any documents, if such a procedure was not stipulated.

Products manufactured in accordance with the transitional provisions are allowed to circulate within their life cycle.

Establishing transitional provisions is an interim procedure after adopting the technical regulation aimed at a phased transition to the technical regulation's requirements and conformity assessment documents.

The Technical Regulation adopted by Decision No. 114 of the EEC Council dated August 8, 2019 shall enter into force from the effective date of the decision of the Commission's Council establishing the forms of labels for various types of power consuming devices and their drafting rules, but not earlier than September 1, 2021.
