Meeting of the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was held. The parties discussed topical questions of the development of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as well as prospects of deepening relations between the EAEU with third countries and integration associations.

Tigran Sargsyan noted the growing interest of external parties in cooperation with the Union. “Foreign trade activity of the EAEU is gaining momentum. Interest in our association is high, we get requests for the establishment of trade and economic relations. First and foremost, there is interest to conclude agreements on free trade zone,” said the Chairman of the EEC Board at the meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. According to Tigran Sargsyan, the priority task is to determine priorities of the Union in foreign economic activity.

Sergey Lavrov said that heads of states and Ministers of Foreign Affairs had adopted a number of decisions aimed at active promotion of this topic in international organizations and strengthening of the international image of the EAEU. “We believe that this work is very important. Integration processes around the world are increasing, in particular with regard to regional integration,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
