Jewelry Bureau to support Eurasian exporters

Jewelry Bureau to support Eurasian exporters

At the 29th International Jewelry Exhibition JUNWEX in St. Petersburg, the Eurasian Economic Commission held a round table on: "Prospects for implementing Agreement in the jewelry sector within the EAEU. Creating the Eurasian Jewelry Export Bureau. Developing electronic trade in jewelry".

Tigran Harutyunyan, Deputy Director of the EEC Industrial Policy Department, and the event attendees have discussed joint measures to support jewelry of the Eurasian Economic Union countries and to create common jewelry market. The Member States’ initiatives on establishing the Eurasian Jewelry Export Bureau and a pilot project in the field of jewelry e-trade joint with the Eurasian Development Bank were considered.

"We see a high potential of the Eurasian Jewelry Export Bureau in solving problems of improving administrative procedures and quality of products," Tigran Harutyunyan stated. "By forming the Bureau's voluntary certification system and creating a single brand, we will enhance the Union’s positive image as well as expand opportunities for exporting products of little-known manufacturers to third-country markets. Recognizing the Bureau's certification as an international quality standard should become one of the key goals in our work".

During the exhibition visit, Tigran Harutyunyan got acquainted with some works performed by applicants of the jewelry competition “Recognition of St. Petersburg” and held a number of working meetings with the jewelry companies’ representatives.

Following the negotiations with the largest sector-specific Media Holding JUNWEX, agreements in principle were reached on creating advantages for the Eurasian Jewelry Export Bureau members to participate in the Holding's exhibition and trade fair events.
