Askar Kishkembayev, Head of the Secretariat of the Member of the Board – EEC Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy, reported on creating an efficient system of intellectual property protection in the Eurasian Economic Union at a joint meeting of the Academic and Supervisory Board of the Republican Scientific Research Institute of Intellectual Property (RSRIIP) held in Moscow.

The Head of the Secretariat of the EEC Minister has noted that the EAEU completes forming the legal framework required to introduce new regional system for registering the EAEU trademarks and appellations of origin of the EAEU goods.

"The legal framework for ensuring the functioning of the common customs register of the EAEU Member States’ intellectual property items is ready, and technical efforts are being taken to create relevant information systems of the Commission," Askar Kishkembayev stressed.

He has also placed greater focus on the fact that, within the Strategic Directions for Developing Economic Integration until 2025, it is planned to create efficient tools for restraining violations of intellectual property rights to control the spread of counterfeit goods and pirated content on the Internet.
