Technical Regulation "On requirements for energy efficiency of power consuming devices" to enter into force on September 1, 2022

On January 29, the EEC Council decided to postpone enactment of the Union’s Technical regulation "On requirements for energy efficiency of power consuming devices "(EAEU TR 048/2019)" to September 1, 2022. This initiative was put forward by the Russian party.

The effective date was postponed to grant manufacturers extra time to ensure a smooth transition to requirements of the unified technical regulation. Besides the decision appreciates the necessity for measures aimed at normalizing the business environment and restoring business activities in light of gradual removal of restrictions associated with the spread of a new coronavirus infection.

Furthermore, the same document has established a deferred standard for energy efficiency marking of vacuum cleaners as well as postponed the date of entry into force of: decision adopted by the EEC Council establishing the forms of labels for various types of power consuming devices and their drafting rules to March 1, 2022; individual requirements set out in Annexes Nos. 3, 5, 6, 9, 12, 13 and 14 to the technical regulation, for a year.​
