По оперативным данным объем внешней торговли товарами государств – членов Таможенного союза за январь-июнь 2012 г. составил 459,6 млрд. долларов США, в том числе экспорт – 302,9 млрд. долларов США, импорт – 156,7 млрд. долларов США. Стоимостной объем экспорта по сравнению с январем-июнем 2011 г. в текущих ценах увеличился на 9,7%, или на 26,9 млрд. долларов США, импорта – на 4,8%, или на 7,2 млрд. долларов США.

The issues of positioning the Eurasian Economic Union as one of the centers of the Greater Eurasian partnership, integration with the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, as well as strengthening cooperation with associations and states of Asia and Europe were discussed at the meeting in the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The discussion was held due to preparation of the implementation plan for the project of Strategic Directions of the Eurasian Economic Integration Development until 2025.

On September 25, during a working trip to Voronezh Region, the Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission Artak Kamalyan and the Governor Alexander Gusev discussed the prospects for cooperation between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the field of industry and agriculture at the regional level. The Minister informed that the Commission (jointly with the Member States) developed a new strategic document - the Main Directions of Industrial Cooperation for the next medium-term period - until 2025.

EEC and WHO to join forces to prevent spreading COVID-19

Issues of preventing the spread of COVID-19, food safety in the consumer market, regulating the circulation of medicines and medical products as well as the Pharmacopoeia of the Eurasian Economic Union and sustainable development goals were discussed by Viktor Nazarenko, Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, and Hans Kluge, World Health Organization’s Regional Director for Europe, at the EEC’s headquarters.

EEC drafts new road map for implementing transport policy in 2021-2023

The second meeting of the Working Group on elaborating the draft road map for 2021-2023 on implementing a coordinated (agreed) transport policy was held on 22-24 September under the chairmanship of Dauren Sabitov, Director of Transport and Infrastructure Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Decision to grant Cuba Observer State status at EAEU can be adopted before year-end 2020

On September 24, a delegation of the Republic of Cuba headed by Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Deputy Prime Minister, paid an official visit to the Eurasian Economic Commission. The EEC’s headquarters hosted joint consultations between the Commission, the Eurasian Economic Union States and the Republic of Cuba on clarifying certain aspects of granting the Observer State status at the EAEU to the country as well as meetings between the Cuban delegation, Mikhail Myasnikovich, Chairman of the EEC Board, and Sergei Glazyev, Minister in charge of Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC.

EAEU industrial output increased by 12.2% in five years

In 2019, increase in industrial output was recorded in most industries in all Eurasian Economic Union countries. This was stated by Artak Kamalyan, Member of the Board - Minister in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), presenting the report "On outcomes of annual monitoring and analysis of implementing the Main Directions of Industrial Cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union" at the meeting of the EEC Advisory Committee on Industry.

On September 23, the first meeting of the Project Office for implementing the Agreement on the mechanism of traceability of goods imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was held at the headquarters of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Moscow.

Andrey Slepnev, Member of the Board – Minister in charge of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), attended an online conference dedicated to the 13th Eurasian Forum scheduled for October 22-23 in Verona. Pasquale Terracciano, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Russia, Antonio Fallico, President of the Conoscere Eurasia Association and Chairman of the Board of Banca Intesa, and Aleksandr Stuglev, Chairman of the Board and Director of the Roscongress Foundation, spoke at the event as well.

EEC Council approved a comprehensive technical audit of the EAEU Integrated Information System

The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has adopted a disposition on launching a comprehensive technical audit of the Integrated Information System (IIS), which is expected to produce a set of system modernization and expansion recommendations, and clarify the feasibility of engaging the existing tools and services in projects to advance the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU)'s digital agenda until 2025. The idea behind the initiative is to elaborate some workable new approaches towards expanding and modernizing the Integrated Information System.

Better EAEU supranational regulation shall cut costs for entrepreneurs

On September 22, the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) Working Group led by Timur Zhaksylykov, Minister in charge of Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, met to review the Eurasian Economic Commission's draft decisions on veterinary measures, circulation of medicines, intellectual property, and customs administration.
