По оперативным данным объем внешней торговли товарами государств – членов Таможенного союза за январь-июнь 2012 г. составил 459,6 млрд. долларов США, в том числе экспорт – 302,9 млрд. долларов США, импорт – 156,7 млрд. долларов США. Стоимостной объем экспорта по сравнению с январем-июнем 2011 г. в текущих ценах увеличился на 9,7%, или на 26,9 млрд. долларов США, импорта – на 4,8%, или на 7,2 млрд. долларов США.

EAEU expanded geography of international cooperation

The Eurasian Economic Union has formalized cooperation or actively interacts with most of the world's leading countries and regional integration associations. This is stated in the report on implementing the Main Directions of the EAEU’s International Activities for 2019 considered by the Members of the EEC Council on April 28.

The Intergovernmental Council is going to discuss all outstanding issues on April 23, after which the document will be submitted for approval to the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on May 19.

On April 10, Members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council adopted a package of measures to be taken in the Eurasian Economic Union to ensure the vital needs of the population, maintain mutual trade and free movement of goods in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, and create conditions for subsequent economic growth. According to the Chairman of the EEC Board Mikhail Myasnikovich, the Commission has restructured its activities and focused its efforts on solving daily acute problems. The set of measures was developed jointly with the Member States' governments.

EEC Council expanded list of goods exempt from import customs duties and simplified requirements for certificates of origin

On April 3, the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council approved the list of critical imports in order to minimize the negative economic consequences of spreading COVID-19 coronavirus infection and prevent a shortage of socially important goods in the EAEU countries. They are granted tariff preferences in the form of exemption from import customs duties when importing to the Eurasian Economic Union States from April 1 to June 30 of this year inclusive.

Members of the Eurasian Economic Commission’s Council agreed upon several more items within the draft Strategic Directions for Developing the Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025. The discussion was held via videoconferencing on March 4 at the EEC’s headquarters.
