Veronika Nikishina

Veronika Nikishina

Member of the Board, Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission since February 2016.

Born on 29th April 1968. She has Ph.D in Economics, majored in Foreign Trade.

Prior to her appointment to the Eurasian Commission she served as Assistant to First Deputy Prime-Minister of the Russian Federation.

Ms. Nikishina held a range of senior positions in the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, including Deputy Head of the Department of Trade Negotiations, Head of the Department of the Americas, Head of the Department of Coordination, Development and Management of Foreign Economic Activity.

Her 17-year experience in trade policy gave her valuable insights into various foreign trade and economic issues, in particular those related to identification and elimination of trade barriers, application of trade remedies, SPS and TBT measures, as well as in conducting negotiations with foreign partners.

At present, Ms. Nikishina oversees a number of the core areas for the Eurasian Economic Union such as tariff and non-tariff regulation, establishment of preferential trade regimes with third countries (FTAs), application of trade remedies.
