Public Consultation Office
In light of the pandemic and economy digitalization, when almost all life moves online, it is of particular importance to be open, ready to change, be able to hear and address needs of the business community in a prompt manner. Successful growth of the EAEU participating countries’ business is a "litmus test" of our work and correctness of the selected development trends.
Meetings of the Public Consultation Office of the EEC Competition and Antitrust Regulation Unit became one of the tools for identifying and suppressing violations of competition rules in the Union's markets.
The Public Consultation Office is a format of direct interaction and dialogue with the business community. In 2018-2019, visiting meetings were held in all the EAEU Member States. They were attended by representatives of more than 850 companies. This work helps raise awareness of the business community, especially small and medium businesses, as well as government authorities and consumers, about competition rules in transboundary markets. Following the meetings, the Commission registered a number of applications about possible signs of violations.
Today, the Public Consultation Office undergoes its transformation. The online format is not only a necessary requirement of present-day realities, but also a possibility to attract a wider range of experts, representatives of business and organizations in the field of competition, including third countries. We create a platform where we can regularly "compare notes" with the business community and practicing lawyers, discuss current issues and elaborate common decisions through brainstorming.
Business sets a trajectory of our work, creating a request for direct and open communication as well as development of mechanisms and tools required for successful growth.
